From the Principal….

Week 10, Term 3

After the cold winter weather and associated coughs and colds, it has been lovely to welcome the higher temperatures over the last two weeks and to see students outside playing and enjoying the sunshine.

WHOLE SCHOOL LUNCH

Kimberley Mead and Kassia Imer, our Canteen volunteers, will be preparing and providing lunch for students and staff tomorrow. They will be serving roast chicken, silverside, potato bake and mixed vegetables, accompanied by slice and a milkshake. Thank you to Kassia and Kimberley for their commitment to our students. I am sure our lunch will be much enjoyed and appreciated.

PREP INCURSION

As part of the Preps’ Term 3 HASS unit, we had a special incursion to learn more about Tasmanian Aboriginal Culture. The Preps went on a local bush walk, looking for bush tucker and learning about the natural world. We loved discovering useful plants and using ochre to paint. We have been reading traditional tales this term and have really enjoyed hearing and thinking about Aboriginal Dreamtime stories.

GRADE 6 LEAVERS’ TOPS

During the year, our School Leaders have done a great job in running ice-cream sales at lunch time on Mondays to raise money for the Grade 6 leavers tops. At assembly last week, these tops were presented to our Grade 6 students and they are now proudly wearing them. Well done leaders!

FISSURE SEALANT PROGRAM

Emily Davis, Chantelle Wright and Rachel Whitmore have been working with the Oral Health fissure sealant program in our school this week. It has been good to see the number of families who have taken advantage of the opportunity to attend this service.

I hope everyone has an enjoyable and restful break. We look forward to welcoming our students back for the start of Term 4 on Monday 11th October.

Regards
Jen
Principal
